On our way
15 September 2013
Everyone in Melbourne can tell you (and everyone will tell you) that Melbourne has 5 seasons a day. The weather is very unstable and it is hard to predict. In our case this is good because the showers that were announced are not here (yet) and the weather is great.
This morning at 8 we lifted the anchor and we sailed out of the bay. There were a lot of people on the beach near the exit of the bay and again a lot of boats around us to wave us goodbye. It is very unusual to have wind from the east this time of year, but we have it and it will stay for the next few days. Now it is still around 10-15 knots (3Bft), but tonight it will increase to about 25 knots and maybe even more (5 to 6 Bft). For now ideal circumstances for a voyage along the west coast of Tasmania. But before we crossed Bass Strait a lot can change.
