Weather getting better
28 February 2014
Update by Ernst:
“Yesterday morning, many things were flying through the kitchen and the saloon and most guests and crewmembers had their hands full by keeping themselves straight up all morning. But all of a sudden the strong wind and the rain ended and the sea became very calm. I guess that we have been going through a weather front, left hopefully the Antarctic region and are in a more moderate climate. The temperature rose from less than ten to over twenty degrees. Due to the calm weather, we used the motor to keep going and only this morning captain Arian could shut it off. And thanks to the pleasant weather, Jacob was able to give us a few lessons in this and that which is important for sailing, like pulling and rolling the ropes efficiently, correctly and properly and he was able to convince Lotte and Alexander to climb high up to the platform on the mast.”
