Coming closer
23 April 2014
The sun starts to shine and the white tops of the waves make the water of the Atlantic look even darker blue then before. The ship is swaying in the waves, which keep catching up with us from behind. But we don’t mind the discomfort it brings because the sailing is fantastic! For days we have been making great progress and with Rotterdam coming closer and closer the excitement is in the air. In about 24 hours we will reach the continental shelf, where the bottom of the Atlantic rises from a few thousand meters depth to a few hundred meters depth. Another 24 hours later we hope to pass Ouessant. So we enjoy the last few days on the ‘long swell’.
