Flushing – Brest
18 September 2014
Flushing-Brest, a voyage with a group of friends that chartered the ship for a nice sailing voyage. And not for the first time, the only difference is that we do not go to and from the Netherlands. Every guest on board has experience with water, with sailing and most of them with this ship. Two even for several generations!
How great is it then to depart from the locks at Flushing, set sails, switch of the engine and sail in almost a straight line to the Channel Islands! With the sun shining during the day and counting the stars in the sky during the night.
This morning we were close to Jersey and wanted to go there to stretch our legs. But when the authorities started talking about the mandatory pilot we changed our plans. We turned around and headed for Sark. We dropped our anchor at ‘La Grande Grève’ and made a beautiful walk. We stayed here for the night and this morning we departed for Brest.
