Isla de Formentor
21 October 2014
After another sunny (and hot) day yesterday, we dropped anchor at Isla de Formentor, near the cape with the same name. There is still little wind, but for the coming night, the weather forecast looks interesting. In the Gulf of Lyon a very strong storm is developing and a second storm comes down from the coast of Spain. Mallorca is right in between, but it seems that the storm chooses a more southerly route and will reach the east side of the island, where we are now. For this afternoon the forecast predicts hardly any wind, but we expect that it will increase during the night. We now have planned to use the increasing north-eastern wind to our advantage and head west along the south coast. We will see if this strategy will work!
