The first Cape Verde voyage has begun!
6 December 2014
After arriving in Cape Verde we had a couple of days of maintenance and cleaning of the ship and, of course, also a bit of re-exploring of the islands and our contacts. Also ‘Sinterklaas’, a Dutch tradition, visited us on our anchorage grounds near Palmeira!
Of course the time came that our firsts guests were ready for their voyage at these beautiful islands. After their arrival on the ship and a warm welcome, we lit the barbecue to cook the fresh tuna which we bought from a fisherman on his way to the harbour. Also we had some delicious salades, breads, sauces, etc. to go with the tuna.
After arranging customs clearance this morning, we set sail and the first voyage of the season has begun!
At this moment we are sailing with wind force 4-5 in our back, on our way to the island Santiago. We expect to drop anchor in the Tarrafal bay somewhere in the morning.
