Update by Riemer:
“Years ago on holidays my sister would start her bits in the logbook with: “The day started with breakfast”. Here it is our cook Jessica and her assistant Charlotta who every day start our day with a bravely prepared breakfast.
At the break of day there was still a heavy blanket of clouds, so we couldn’t shoot the stars. Later on the clouds broke away and we got a sunny day. A nice breeze force 5 Bft and noticeable waves give us a lovely day of sailing. Our classical log tells us we have an average speed of 6.6 knots. With a cup of tea, cup of coffee or a beer the voyage crew watch the movie ‘Longitude’ in the saloon. The permanent crew have the deck to themselves for a moment.
The wind has veered a bit more and our course is getting more and more northerly, now about 350 degrees. The hours of the watches have shifted today, so the different hours of day and night will be evenly spread over the voyage crew watches.
Things are going smoothly, everyone is very enthusiastic and the atmosphere on board is perfect!”
