A small disaster

The ‘Oosterschelde’ is still in Dordrecht and cannot sail yet. Literally while casting off on Friday to sail to Rotterdam, we discovered a strange vibration in the brand new gearbox. We worked the whole weekend, thought and measured to find the cause and fix the problem, but so far without success. It’s a disappointment for everyone. The ship looks beautiful, the crew is on board, the ship is loaded with water, diesel, food and other supplies, but we cannot sail. This afternoon we changed something to the foundation of the gearbox. Tomorrow, as the resin that it is poured in is hard, we can test if this has effect. Fingers crossed..
