Step by step we try to eliminate the possible causes of the vibration. The shaft has been checked and had a deviation of 5 hundredths of a millimetre. Then we measured the flange, the intermediate shaft, etc, etc. We did not find any real big deviations, so it’s starting to look like we are dealing with a whole series of small deviations, each one within their limit, but all together becoming a problem.
With a new intermediate shaft and an adjustment to the flange on the gearbox and the propeller shaft, we hope to break that pattern. At the start of next week, all parts will be on board again and we begin to rebuild. And then we have to re-align the motor. Hopefully with results!
