Skagen passed
2 July 2015
We are very lucky with the weather. While there is a heat wave in the Netherlands we sail with the sun shining bright, 26 degrees and doing 9.5 knots to Skagen. We are enjoying every bit of it!
The first night of the trip was also really nice while we were sailing through the Great Belt and even sailing under the Great Belt-bridge. At the end of a beautiful warm day the wind decreased unfortunately, so we had to find an anchor spot on engine. And we found a great one! In the middle of the night with still daylight on the Northern horizon we anchored in the beautiful bay Skallagräs. The next morning we explored the bay on foot and in the afternoon we sailed, on engine, to Göteborg. We anchored at Långedrag for a quiet evening. At 04:00 the forecasted southern wind started blowing and we lifted the anchor. Now we just passed the tip of Denmark, it was busy like a highway. We are heading west with just over 85 miles to go before we reach the Norwegian coast.
