19 Jul Cod for Vera
Cod for Vera
19 July 2015
After a day in Ålesund the new guests came on board. After the welcome on board and a quiet and long night of sleep we left. We wanted to explore the fjords north of Ålesund, but there was wind expected from the north and we did not want to go on engine. We decided to put the sail up and sail to the southeast, to the Geiranger Fjord. At the end, in the village of Geiranger we moored at the quay for a quiet night. We spent the morning hiking, enjoying the view and fishing. Vera, nine years old, immediately caught a whopper of a cod!
Just for lunch we departed and headed to the south. Unfortunately, the wind did not cooperate and we had to go on engine. In the late afternoon we tied the ship to the pier at the village of Eivindvik. The pier is somewhat small, or we are a bit big, but it’s a good spot and the ferry should also be able to pass by us. Half the village has come to visit us and everyone is very friendly and helpful.
Tomorrow we take our time to explore the village before casting off and continue our trip. During the night the rain will stop and by the afternoon even the wind will turn to the right direction. At least that’s what they say.
