Captain Maarten’s update:
“After a beautiful Sail Out we sailed into the night. There was little wind so we went to slow with the wind in our back. We decided to luff to be able to set more sails. During sunrise the wind increased a bit. After breakfast we made our second jibe and sailed along the island Aruba up. Of course we entered the harbour under sail and just before we had to moor we took the sails down. On the quay 4 people from customs were waiting for us with rubber gloves and also immigration arrived. We were a bit worried about what was going to happen… But everyone was very friendly and all formalities were quickly arranged. We decided to anchor in the Paardenbaai.
The BBQ is lit and there is laughter and great smells coming in, so I think it is dinnertime. Tomorrow I will hand over the ship to Gerben and my holiday starts.”
