On our way to Rotterdam

The pilot steps on board with a giant cardboard mug with coffee.H owdy all. It is 09:30 hrs. in the morning. We are all ready to go so we shake hands with the people from the Texas Seaport Museum and we cast off. Shortly before the pier the pilot disembarks and our voyage to Bermuda really start. We have to stay in the ‘safety route’ for the first 140 miles, outside this safety zone there are many half dismantled oil rigs that have never been cleaned up. Partly under water and badly lit. Despite the mess, it swarms with dolphins, mostly bottlenose. There is no wind so we are going on engine. The almost full moon rises at port side. We are underway to Rotterdam.
