Puffin spotting
18 August 2016
After a lovely day at Tobermory we lifted the anchor and set sail straight away. Unfortunately, the wind decreased right at that time so our speed was very low and the bay of Tobermory was very big. Once we were out of the bay, the wind picked up and we were doing a steady 7 knots. We sailed all night and in the morning the wind increased and we were even doing 11,3 knots!
After breakfast we arrived at Dunvegan and went seal spotting and we visited the castle. Next on our schedule were the Shiant Islands to spot puffins. They were either all asleep or they had moved, because we did not spot one puffin! But we did enjoy watching the huge steep cliffs and we think we even spotted the fin of a sunfish.
We are now on our way to Ullapool. But with little wind so we are not going very fast.
