10 January 2017
For the first time in days the sky is cloudy. I wrote earlier that normally there is much more wind in Cape Verde, but times are changing. The sky is grey and the wind has increased. If the forecast is correct the wind will increase to 6 to 7 Bft later today and tomorrow. For now, it’s still easy going and we are enjoying it by sailing as much as we can.
We left early this morning and we are now north of the uninhabited islands Santa Luzia and Ilhéu Branco. The wind is a bit easterly, but we can steer high enough to sail. We can’t see São Nicolau yet but it is right ahead of us. We have 25 miles to go and we will reach the island before dark. We just caught a Mahi Mahi so we will see that back during lunch!
