After Barbados we sailed towards Martinique, it seemed like the ship knew that we were almost there, we went super-fast! So therefore, we made an extra stop in Rodney Bay on Saint Lucia for a quiet morning. We arrived in the night and slept for a few hours. After a lovely breakfast we went swimming and read a book on deck while frigatebirds were circling above our heads. The swimming in the sea was better than in our swimming pool on deck, although that one was nice and refreshing.
After a few hours, we left for the last leg to Martinique, the last miles, although not quite yet. Because Fort de-France is not the most picturesque spot in the Caribbean we decided to drop anchor at Le Petit Anse d’Arlet, a bay just south of Fort de France. We spent our last night here, enjoyed the barbecue on deck and the music. The next morning we sailed the last miles and it was time to say goodbye.
It were, in three week’s time, three islands in Cape Verde, an ocean and three islands in the Caribbean. In total 2451 nautical miles!
