Sea life
5 April 2017
It was a busy day of saying goodbye to one group and welcoming the new group on board for the next trip (and the cleaning and storing in-between). There are many familiar faces on board, some we haven’t seen for years so it is great to catch up!
After a quiet night and a lovely breakfast, we tried to clear customs as fast as possible and start with the safety instructions. When Jan-Willem came back on board with the passports, we hoisted the anchor and the sails. While we sailed out of the bay we explained to everyone about the sails and rigging so everyone knew what they were pulling on.
It was a beautiful day. We could do a lot of sail handling because of the variable winds leeward of Martinique. And on top of that we spotted some sea life! Today we spotted dolphins alongside the ship and pilot whales. And on top of that Jeroen caught his first fish! It was a beautiful dorado, that we prepared for dinner; that’s what they call catch of the day.
Meanwhile we have anchored at Dominica, tomorrow the guests will go on the unforgettable tour.
