Update by captain Bernt:
“It’s great to be back on board. I arrived on Saturday in Le Havre in the middle of a very busy open ship day. The ship was full of enthusiastic and friendly people. On Sunday, we participated in the Parade of Sail. We started early as the catering came on board at 06:30, the pilot at 07:20 and the guests at 07:30. At 8:00 o’clock sharp we departed to be in time to go through the locks at high tide.
Thousands of people gathered at the pier and beach to watch the Parade. Luckily there was not too much wind so we could set all the sails. The guests disembarked after a beautiful day of sailing at 13:30. And then it was time for us to prepare the ship for the new guests who were expected at 17:00.
It’s a great mix of familiar faces and new guests. They turned in early after the introduction and a warm meal. We got up early to leave the dock at high tide. We had a great first sailing day. Again there was not a lot of wind so we could set all sails and everyone could adjust to the life at sea. Tomorrow afternoon we might visit a Belgian or British port (Tuesday).”
