It is as it goes with scandals: it starts with a small incident and then it grows bigger fast. First it became apparent that there was asbestos in the grit, but it appeared to be more than a little pollution. Now it happens to be more widespread and including more companies. Nevertheless, it means that the ‘Oosterschelde’ cannot be sandblasted according to the plan. So, last Friday we sailed back to the Leuvehaven. Back to square one.
We try to find a company which perform at least a little of our plan, perhaps under tents. But all the companies are very busy, and our planning is tight. Although it is very disappointing, we will not give up.
