Falmouth

Update from trainee Jan ten Dam (19 december): “Exactly 5 days after departure from Rotterdam we have arrived in Falmouth. There is almost no wind and the sky is blue. The guests go on shore to stretch their legs and the crew can do some chores before we really set sail for the Atlantic. After departure from Rotterdam we first made stop in Willemstad and sailed via the Westerschelde to sea. After our stop in Falmouth we want to do some sailing so we changed our course and set sail. We don’t go fast, but ‘the grand old lady’ does what she can. Late in the afternoon we enter Lands’ End and we take away the sails, start the engine and we set a southerly course to cross Biscay.”
