Animals on board

Today was a beautiful day! It was exactly what you hope for when you go sailing: a constant wind so we could set all our sails! And on top of that, we had a calm sea and almost no swell. The sun shone and once in a while there was the shadow of a tiny cloud. In short, perfect sailing weather!
And it even got better! Today we caught our first fish, a wahoo. Also, birds got on board. Firstly there were three small falcons on the rigging, like peregrine falcons. Not something you would expect at sea! Shortly afterwards, we saw whales. One was swimming very close to the ship. The opinions on board differ, but most of us thought they were humpbacks.
Later our ‘evening guests’ arrived. A flock of swallows stayed the night on board, sleeping on different places.
