The thunderstorm above the Bahama’s did not stay there. It came our way and it was a long, wet night with lots of lightning around us. Since then the wind is strong so we are going very fast. With the inner jib, jib, topsail and a reef in the schooner sail, mainsail and mizzen we speed across the ocean!
After 1,5 days at open sea with all this water around us and all the space you can imagine, we see a ship. And you know what happens? They want to be at the same place at the same time! But the ‘Cosco Prince Rupert’ was very friendly and after a short talk on the VHF they adjusted the course and passed us on 1 mile behind us. Pretty cool that a 349-meter-long ship adjusts its course for us! And when a ship of this size passes at a distance of almost 2 kilometres it is still a huge ship.
