Captain Maarten reports:
“What a great last day! Early this morning we were situated above IJmuiden and we set the first sails. There was a calm wind, so we could sail and enjoy the beautiful weather. First we passed Zandvoort, then Noordwijk and right before Katwijk we went windward to extend our delightful last day.
We changed the sails before sailing into Scheveningen. Once we were inside we sailed on only the mainsail and the jib. Just before we moored we took down both sails.
At the quay was a nice surprise! My brothers (who taught me how to sail) awaited us in Scheveningen, together with Anne-Marie and my three nieces! Tonight, we are celebrating our goodbye party. And tomorrow I will hand the baton on to captain Bernt.”
