22 Jul Through Dover Strait
Through Dover Strait
22 July 2018
After filling all the stores and instructing the new guests how to act if an alarm sounds, we left Scheveningen in a WNW wind. Once outside we hoisted all sails and went SW to Dover Strait. Around sunset our ground speed had decreased to 0.8 NM, the wind slowly backed to SW and we lowered the sails and switched on the main engine.
We expect to round Cap Griz-Nez in the afternoon, where we will be able to turn south; we probably will hoists the sails again and sail on on this beautiful day.
