23 Jul Cap de la Hague
Cap de la Hague
23 July 2018
Yesterday we had a lovely sailing afternoon. We went along with the current, and in six hours time we were at least 10 miles closer to our destination. In the evening, the current shifted and soon we lost a mile. So, we started the engine to sail during the night.
The weather forecast today predicts a little West wind. That’s no good for us. They also state that the weather is great everywhere in Europe, but that’s not the case here! After breakfast, a thick mist covered us. And we have a headwind… not great sailing conditions!
So, we changed our plans. Now we are sailing towards Cap de la Hague to drop anchor at Omonville-la-Rogue so we can stretch our sea-legs. After dinner, we will continue our sailing. Tomorrow it is expected that there is even less wind than today, so tomorrow we might make an even longer stop. The plan is to sail up the river Le Trieux, towards Lezardrieux.
