30 Jul Departure Douarnenez
Departure Douarnenez
30 July 2018
This morning we welcomed our new guests on board for the trip to Oban. After the introduction and safety briefing we departed. We set the sails and sailed out of the bay of Douarnenez. The wind was nice, and we could set all the sails, so we speeded away.
But not for long. In the afternoon the wind died down, but it was still enough to sail through Canal du Four. In the evening the wind completely faded, and the current pushed us further. When the current turned we had to switch on the engine, but not for long as the wind returned and were going in the right direction. But again, not for long…
The wind just turned 90 degrees and we are now we are heading northeast. The current has more influence, so we are actually going to the northwest! We are trying to keep the wind in our sails in the swell, so we are keeping ourselves pretty busy.
