A hectic day
28 August 2018
It was a hectic day in Dunvegan. First our anchor came loose, and we had to lift it quickly, so when we dropped it the second time and we added an extra anchor just to be sure. When everything was back to normal, an employee of the castle came to the ship to tell us that one of our guests had fallen down. We quickly went to the castle and we found her there with a lot of pain. She was brought to the hospital where they found out that she had broken her leg. With pain in our hearts we said goodbye to her and we wish her all the best and a speedy recovery!
After all this we decided to stay for an extra night. The next day the forecast predicted a good sailing day, but the wind forgot to look at that same forecast… The wind should pick up after breakfast, so we were ready. When the first blow came we set the mainsail and jib, but then the wind went away again. Up to lunch there was almost no wind. But the sun was shining, and we saw lots of (white-beaked) dolphins, so it was a lovely morning. After lunch we set the course as we were going down wind. When the wind shifted we took it down again and we set the rest of the sails and sailed into the night. We even spotted a few Minke whales. Just before midnight we dropped anchor at Tobermory. Here we enjoy the surroundings, the distillery, the museum and the peace and quiet.
