Maintenance

We thought we would have an easy year after the big things we undertook the past few years during maintenance. But a 100 year old ship has its own dynamic. We are still at the shipping wharf in Stellendam. The ship has been painted and is back in the water, but inside there is still a lot to do. 
We have replaced the ceiling of the engine room; and this is also the floor of the captain’s cabin. A tough job that takes caution and time, because we do not want to damage the engine room or the cabin. It is frustrating too because if we do a good job no one will see the result of all the hard work. Besides that we have new gas-oil separators, a new watermaker and we revise all the saltwater pumps. In short: we are busy! We hope to return to Rotterdam on Friday.
