18 May No wind
No wind
18 May 2019
After two weeks of maintenance to prepare the ship for the summer season, it was time to set sail again. The axe of the anchor winch still had to be delivered and installed today, but luckily everything fell into place on time.
The guests embarked in the Levehaven, and after everyone was assigned a cabin, we enjoyed a dinner before sailing off to the Golfe du Morbihan. The weaterforecast predicted a little wind, so we tried to set the yardsails. But, once we sailed under the Erasmus Bridge, it turned out that there was no wind at all… We did put out our topsail, but it looked like we put a towel on a clothesline. So we took it down again.
In the meanwhile, we have passed the Nieuwe Waterweg and we are sailing on a smooth Northsea towards the Belgium coast. Tomorrowmorning, even less wind is predicted, but in the afternoon we do expect some wind. We are looking forward to it!
