Nusfjord
9 August 2019
Because the wind is still northwest, we have to come up with other nice things to do besides sailing. After Værøy we went to the west side of the Lofoten, to the bay of Kvalvika. There is a beautiful white beach where you watch a very romantic sunset according to the books about the area. For the people on the beach we made it even more beautiful with a view on the Oosterschelde. Of course, we enjoyed the sunset as well.
This morning we left again to go to Nusfjord. This is a traditional fishing village with original architecture, etc. It was nice to sail into the fjord and to see the houses. Our goal for today was Henningsvaer. An old fishing village and a bit bigger than Nusfjord, with a few quays that were deep enough for us. We parked the ship there at a quay where there was just enough room for us, it was like they knew we were coming.
We will stay here for tonight and tomorrow after the guests have seen the town we will sail further. Our next stop is Trollfjorden, but don’t tell anyone yet, because we will wait to tell the guests this.
