Hamburg Cruise Days

We are in Hamburg for the Hamburg Cruise days after our Norway adventure. It was a lovely trip from Bergen. A few guests stayed on board after the last trip in Norway and luckily got to experience how nice it is to really sail with the ship.

The first day we had to go on engine, but around midnight the wind shifted tot the southeast and we could sail. After a period of no wind the wind turned north, and we could sail to Helgoland. On Wednesday morning we arrive just around low tide at the mouth of the Elbe and we could sail up to Hamburg with the current with us.

Now the Hamburg Cruise Days festival is in full swing. We are doing sailing trips of 4 hours on the Elbe. Tonight, it is the last night with the “Auslauf Parade” of the cruise ships including fireworks.
