Now that all plates are in, it is time to paint. The weather is no longer cooperating, so it is a bit of a wait for a suitable moment. Today the second layer has been applied and the OOSTERSCHELDE is starting to look a bit like a ship again. Inside we are busy stacking the lead that is now used as ballast. Due to their triangular shape, they stack very nicely, but they seem to get heavier with each pallet. When the layer of antifouling is also applied this week, we can go into the water. But we’re not ready to go yet. The coming weeks will be busy connecting all pipes, tanks, etc.
