From Lisbon we decide to push through. The eastern wind slowly turns south and then west. So we need get as far west as possible in order to sail south with the westerly wind and end up near Tenerife. This means that we will have a few heavy days with a lot of wind ahead of us. We put reefs in the sails and we carry on sailing west. Lots of wind, water from all sides and every now and then heavy thunderstorms. As soon as the wind starts to turn to the west it gets better. The sky clears and we can relax a bit. The sun, which we have not seen for a few days, is back out. On to the south!
