Lots of wind

We had a lot of wind this whole trip. With a small crew it took some time to set all sails, but we also made fast crossings despite the sometimes high waves. While visiting the islands it was less pleasant to have so much wind. In São Nicolau, for example, the anchor kept scratching and we had to anchor several times because it didn’t hold.

Finally, on the 4th attempt and behind two anchors and 8 lengths of anchor chain, we were finally tied up.

Fortunately, the beautiful weather returned once we reached Boa Vista. The clouds gave way to the sun and the wind has decreased to force 4. Also today, on our last sailing day, it is sunny and with a calm pace of 6 knots we sail the last miles to Palmeira.
