Since Saturday the ‘Oosterschelde’ is back in Rotterdam. Much earlier than usual as we have not 1 but 2 major maintenance projects planned. First of all it is time for the 5-yearly survey of the rigging, so all three masts, including everything that comes with them, will be removed from the ship, so that they can be checked. A huge job, but we also want to restore the third and last part of the hull. In the next 2 weeks we will be in Rotterdam to remove the sails, and hoist the topmasts of the ship, so that we can go to the shipyard in Franeker at the end of the month.
