To São Nicolau

After our stop in Mindelo we set course for São Nicolau. The first few hours after leaving Mindelo are often a bit rough. We have to go against the wind and waves around the north side of São Vicente. First we motor sail in the direction of Santo Antão and when we are close to the coast we tack. After the tack we sail on an easterly course north of São Vicente. After a few hours of motor sailing, the wind decreases slightly, and the waves slowly decrease. Now is the time to also change course towards São Nicolau. We set more sails. It will be a nice sailing day! At the end of the afternoon, just before sunset, we drop anchor in the bay of Tarrafal. The day that started rough turned into great sailing, ends with a beautiful sunset and swimming guest crew in the bay of Tarrafal.
