The Oosterschelde is present at the festival ‘la Semaine du Golfe’, in France. In addition to several Tall Ships, there are especially many, many small sailing boats on the water here. Sometimes, there are so many, that you only see sails on the horizon. The French are crazy about sailing and beautiful boats. We’re amazed by what we see every day again!

The Gulf of Morbihan is known for its strong tidal currents. Current speeds of 6 or 7 knots are no exception. Every day the Oosterschelde sails out of this wave and back in for a wonderful day of sailing with many French people on board. In the narrow passages between the islands, our speedometer occasionally ticks 11.9 knots while you are surrounded by hundreds of small sailing boats coming at you from all sides. In short: a nice place, but be very careful.
