Too much water?
When you live and work on a ship there can never be too much water. Unfortunately, there was a bit too much water for the bus, which was meant to bring me back to the ship again after my vacation. When the streets are flooded and water splashes until the top of the windows, I am happy to be back on the ‘Oosterschelde’ who can handle water way better than the busses here. This really must have been the most rainy day in a long time!
Always nice to arrive back on the ship and be met with the typical business again. It is the last day of the Darwin Leader week here in Uruguay and all the young scientists and camera operators are very focused on finishing their projects for the presentation in the evening. While the rain continues to pour down heavily the saloon becomes a movie theatre with eight different wildlife and nature videos. The next day brings better weather, but it is also time to say our goodbyes to the Darwin Leader group again. The rest of the day we (the crew) spent cleaning, and preparing for the next voyage to Puerto Madryn. And in the evening it was time to visit the sealions who live in the port.
