Punta Arenas

A little earlier than planned, the Oosterschelde arrived in Punta Arenas. Because of a big storm coming in, we had to choose: either take the pilot on board immediately and get to Punta Arenas as soon as possible, or keep the ship going for three more days in the storm, which would make us arrive late. Well…

Meanwhile, the ship is safely at anchor. The pilot is still on board. Because of the storm, the port is closed and he will not be collected. Other authorities ( immigration, customs) are not coming on board either, so we cannot and should not disembark yet.
