Almost in Callao
After the first days with a lot of southern wind, we now had a few days with little wind. For two days the engine had to make sure we still made progress. Fortunately, today the wind picked up a very little bit, so we could slowly fill the masts with sail. At 11 o’clock everything we have was up
It made for a speed of about 4-5 knots, so we still needed the motor again at the end of the day. But we are having a great time; the sun tent is up again, yes, we really are back in the tropics now, and there is a pool party on deck. Tonight we will motor another 100 miles, and then, if all goes well, we will arrive at Las Ballestas, a group of islands called the “poor man’s Galapagos.” Lots of tourist boats go there, and there should be lots of wildlife.
