Quiz Night
After several days of overcast skies and little sunlight, this morning greeted us with a promise of clear weather. The sun painted the sky in breathtaking shades of pink, and at last, the lingering cold seems to be behind us. Today, we enjoyed a high of 24°C on deck—gone are the days of layering up before stepping outside.
The wind, which started as a gentle force 2 in the early morning, gradually strengthened to force 5 by the afternoon and evening. But at these temperatures, the southerly breeze feels refreshing rather than biting, a stark contrast to the icy winds of the past weeks. We can truly feel how far we’ve sailed from the frigid Antarctic waters. Hard to believe that just three weeks ago, we were carefully navigating past icebergs.
Now, as we sail through South African territorial waters, our final destination is drawing ever closer. It’s strange to think that tonight could be our second-to-last night at sea. To keep spirits high, the Blue Watch has put together an evening of entertainment—Quiz Night! Our two flamboyantly dressed quizmasters are leading us through four rounds of tricky questions, with a prize awaiting the winning team. And just to be clear, in case of any doubts—the quizmasters are always right!
